Well, it's finally here! The highly anticipated William Rast for Target collection hit the floors in select Target locations and the store's website on December 19, 2010 and will remain through January 22, 2011. If you know anything about the William Rast designer label, the brand is known for its premium denim and biker-inspired styles. Designer prices range from $95 to $595, so being able to get a line inspired by this brand is a treat!
The women's apparel assortment includes skirts, faux-leather shorts, jeggings and embellished tank tops, as well as five-pocket denim. Apparel price points range from $19.99 to $49.99. The most expensive items would be the leather jackets for $199.99 (select doors). Unfortunately, the apparel styles are very similar to what has already been out there in stores. All in all, it seemed a bit lackluster... and by judging from the looks of the well-stocked racks on the Sunday before Christmas, I wasn't the only one who thought so. In my opinion, the line as a whole was a bit of a "MISS".
The most memorable item is the leather jacket. For some, $199.99 may be a steal! For others, it may still be too much - especially for the Target customer. The "HIT" would undoubtedly be the denim. The denim is rather straightforward, no gimmicks or over-designing. But apart from the fabric, washes and construction, the truth is in the fit of the denim - which fits impeccably! For $49.99, you can't beat it!
